In its second year, the Wildwood Trail Marathon takes advantage of a newly created trail system in the Wildwood area and features a mix of technical and hardpack trails. Veteran race director Shalini Kovach says “This is a terrific course for beginners because of the gentle elevation gain but also terrific for experienced runners because it can be a fast course.”
She also gave the advice that because this race is in the midwest, the weather on race day can vary wildly (from 78 degrees one year to below freezing the next) so be prepared for all conditions if you go.
According to Kovach the trail running scene in MO has been growing quickly over the past few years. The participation in this race, as well as a number of other races she directs throughout the year, is on the rise.
The Wildwood Trail Marathon is capped at a tight 150 racers so don’t delay in registering!
